With over 20 years experience in hospitality you are
in safe hands
with Philip and Paolo.
The Borgo 69 founders Philip Robinson and Paolo Kastelec, met in London in 1990, Philip from London and Paolo from Rome. After spending 10 years together in London in 2000 they created, and currently operate, a highly successful Boutique hotel Villa Fontelunga located across the valley from Borgo69.
Established as the first contemporary styled Villa property in Tuscany for over the last 20 years Philip and Paolo have cultivated a world-wide reputation and extensive loyal customer base with what they like to call their “contemporary informal luxury” properties.
Following the success of Villa Fontelunga they realised that there was a gap in the Tuscan market for contemporary self- catering accommodation of a smaller size and in 2005 they built and opened three distinctly modern styled villas in the neighbouring valley. The compact self-catering accommodation, with a tailored concierge service delivered in a relaxed and informal way, was an immediate success.
From this the concept of Borgo 69 was borne and their vision has finally become a reality.
Our aim is to give our guests the best
introduction and vacation to Tuscany
Many of our team have collaborated with us of the last 20 years, with our aim is to give our clients the best introduction and vacation to Tuscany that we can. The result being our guests have the most fulfilling and relaxing Tuscan holiday.
Borgo 69 is very much part of the town of
Pozzo and we champion everything that is
We have been very conscious in our design to include the local materials and craftsmanship. We enter
into the local atmosphere of the community and do not remain isolated from the real Tuscany.
We are and want to represent a blend of the local and the international, the traditional and the contemporary, to open up both our local and international communities to other influences in a convivial and harmonious setting.
We have looked at ways to step lightly on this earth adding technologies
villas have a low environmental impact.
We use of photovoltaic panels that captures the sun’s energy for our own clean energy.
Insulation is key in making the villas energy efficient.
The ‘inverter’ technology in the air conditioning continuosly regulates the temperature of the villas helping cut energy consumption.
Fully electric cars emit no harmful exhaust fumes. We have an electric car charger onsite for our guests to use.
In our own market garden we grow varieties of vegetables and fruits, native to Tuscany, which means that guests can enjoy the freshest seasonal ingredients in our restaurant, harvested that morning. Our breakfast breads are from the local bakery in Pozzo and our produce comes from small family run farms in the area.
